CompBR is the latest service launched by the CompDME family. Focused on cost-containment within the workers’ compensation marketplace, CompDME now offers clients access to Ancillary/DME, Pharmacy/PBM and Medical Bill Review/PPO services that function as an integrated service suite or independently based on customer need.
The CompBR process begins by developing a bridge between our national industry-leading bill review software platform and the claim management software used by our clients. We create automated processes to manage the export and import of claim and provider files, allowing seamless processing of medical payment files. Existing integrations include the full suite of products (CompBR, OHA Networks, CompDME and CompPBM) with JW FileHandler, and bill review integrations with Origami Risk, Claim Pilot and RiskMaster. Our IT team has extensive experience building software integrations, typically at no cost for our customers.
The CompBR workflow extends to flexible options allowing medical providers to send bills and records electronically through their clearinghouse, digital image, or paper. CompBR can even serve as the mailroom for clients, managing the process from beginning to end.
Using our national bill review platform, experienced analysts review each bill to check for duplicate charges and correct coding, before applying any State-mandated workers’ compensation medical fee schedule or usual and customary reductions to the billed charges. CompBR can manage medical bills from any jurisdiction in the nation. The CompBR Explanation of Review is customizable by client, and the transparent, easy to read format is provider friendly, creating an advantage over other EORs in the industry.
The CompBR bill review platform offers access to multiple national and regional workers’ compensation PPO and specialty networks, creating competitive savings for our clients. Additionally, through another CompDME company, OHA Networks, we create custom provider PPO networks based on the specific needs of the clients we serve. Through direct contracts with medical providers, the combination of CompBR and OHA Networks virtually eliminates medical fee disputes while maximizing savings.
When CompBR clients utilize medical providers that do not participate in PPO networks, or when unique services are required for large exposure claims, the experienced OHA Networks team will negotiate single case agreements. These negotiations are contractual and designed to create win-win relationships benefiting both the client and provider.
The final step in the CompBR process is to facilitate payments to the medical providers. This can be accomplished through the return of a traditional payment file for import into the claim management system, which allows efficient check printing and tracking of expenses by claim. CompBR also offers an integrated payment solution through a partnership with Jopari. The platform allows providers to select from a variety of payment options, including ACH, virtual cards and traditional checks. This industry-leading technology facilitates faster, more efficient and more accurate payments to medical providers, and offers options to automate indemnity payments as well.
